Frequently Asked Questions

Read our answers to frequently asked questions below.

What services do you offer?
We offer a variety of financial and administrative services for California governments. However, we specialize in providing internal audit services, helping with the annual close and preparation of the annual financial statements, interim financial management, fraud investigation, and implementation of new accounting pronouncements and regulations. Please see our list of services for more detailed information.

Do you offer in-person consultations (as of March 2020)?
Due to the ongoing public health threat of COVID-19, we currently limit in person consultations at our Castro Valley office location. We do, however, offer the exact same consultations in a virtual format – either via video chat or phone call. Please get in touch here for a consultation.

Can you help with critical on-site services (as of January 2021)?
While all services that can be conducted virtually, are preferably provided remotely during the ongoing pandemic, we come to our clients’ offices when necessary. In these cases, we follow stringent health protocols (including social distancing and wearing face masks) to ensure the safety of everyone. Please get in touch here to discuss your desired on-site services.

Do you work with the entire finance department personnel or only with top managers?
This depends on your local government’s situation and current departmental state. Sometimes, we work with only a handful of critical managers involved to keep the flow intact, and sometimes it is in the best interest to involve the larger team. When we offer on-site training (see this blog post for an example of how on-site training may play out) usually the whole department is involved.

How much do your services cost?
The cost of our services depends on the number of professional hours required and the experience levels of the professionals involved. The number of hours a project takes depends on the project scope and complexity, the level of participation of client staff, the availability of documentation required, and the responsiveness of auditee personnel. We pride ourselves on transparent pricing, and will provide an estimated project cost after our initial consultation and discussion, where our firm can gather more insights on your project and government.

Do you offer free consultations?
We offer a free 30-minutes phone consultation where we discuss your current situation, and how we could best help your government. Click here to schedule your free consultation.
